One Step At A Time

The going theme recently has been to take one step at a time and to keep on going. With so much to do in a single life, it may seem impossible to get from start to finish, but there is so much more in the middle of beginning and ending. At times, it is very easy to lose sight and miss the value in whats in between. We want to be the hare too bad and not the tortious. Speeding through life is a quick way to burnout and not enjoy the process of the work it takes to get from one end to the next. It's also not guaranteed to be a straight path, and it is in these moments that we have to not only remember to keep going, but to simply take one step at a time.

Think about what you did today. Did you speed through it? Were you rushing out the door? Did you overlook your partner or loved ones walking out of the door? Did you jump right up when you woke up, or did you take some time to just breath for a second? What you do at the start of the day will result in the outcome towards the end of the day. Much like making a bad habit and trying to break it, we wont have good results until we start over again. We can't walk backwards, but the path will sure enough lead us back to the start instead of the finish line because of skipped steps.

Once we realize that taking one step at a time is what's best, we can then be more pleased with each small win (the battle) before the ultimate victory (the war) which only results in more enjoyment of the fruits of our labor. What Nip say? "The Marathon Continues!" Life and it's obstacles are not a race. Life and it's obstacles are chess, not checkers. Don't even let your expectations of whats to come (be it positive or negative) stop you from moving your feet. As the old folks say, "the race ain't given to the swift, it's given to the one who endureth to the end." Can I get an Amen, Ase' or something?! HaHa. Peace, Love, and Hair Grease, Champions! Win the day because the day is indeed already won!
